Prayer is daily communication with your heavenly Father. It’s not about repeating formal, rehearsed speeches; it’s about raw, unfiltered conversations with your loving Creator. Start by giving Him the first few minutes of your morning--be completely honest and transparent with Him. You are building a relationship not checking a religious box. This daily connection is the lifeblood of your new adventure.

Reading the Bible vs Bible Study

• Reading the Bible is completely different from studying it. Reading is about familiarizing yourself with God’s voice, His character, and the overarching story of scripture. It’s letting God’s Word sink deep into your heart.
• Bible Study comes later. This is where you slow down, pull out a notebook, dissect a single verse, look up historical context, and dig deep. For now, focus primarily on reading to know His heart.

Don’t just open the Bible randomly and hope for inspiration.

• Begin in the New Testament with the Gospel of John so you can intimately get to know Jesus, His ministry, and His love.
• Move to the book of Romans to fully understand your new identity and the power you possess.
• Read a Psalm every day to learn how to anchor your emotions in truth.

Once you have laid that unshakeable foundation, you are ready to dive into Genesis and begin your reading plan. Keep your eyes on Jesus and let the pages come alive.

Your adventure with God is uniquely personal. The enemy loves to use comparison to steal your excitement. You might sit next to a sister in the pew who seems to know every verse and prays with absolute eloquence. Remember: she had a “day one”, too. God is not comparing your beginning to someone else's middle—or even to someone else's beginning. Your walk with Jesus is intimate. Keep your eyes on Jesus and live your own adventure.

You cannot survive this walk isolated from the body. The thrill of this new life isn't just about the heights you reach—it is also about the people you are traveling with. You need to be connected with a biblically sound Church that prays. Ask God to lead you to a church where the Word of God is preached without compromise, where Jesus is magnified, and where prayer is treated as a fierce necessity rather than a closing afterthought. Look for a family that will lock shields with you and help you grow.

Discipline outlasts emotion. You won't always feel like praying or reading, but we do not live by feelings—we live by faith. Take it one day, one chapter, and one prayer at a time. Enjoy the adventure.
